It's Our Time!

Background

The EAC celebrated its 20th anniversary on November 30, 2019. To mark this milestone, we have lauched a year-long citizens’ engagement campaign dubbed The EAC I Deserve.

As we focus on achieving new milestones as set out in EAC vision 2035, the life in East Africa in the past 20 years has changed tremendously through our joint efforts, creating more employment opportunities for the youth and improving the quality of life for our citizens

Evaluation, Selection and Notification to Winners

A team of digital experts will review the submissions. Digital media monitoring tools will be used for tracing and analysinng them and winners will be notified via email in March 2020.

Submission Process

  • Citizens are free to produce and submit as many videos or animations as they wish.
  • The videos and animations need to be uploaded on social media channels of the entrants; Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram Accounts to be considered for awards.
  • The entrants need to include #theEACiDeserve in all their postings and communication on digital media.
The hashtag will be used to trace the submissions.
  • The entrants will later need to visit www.theeacideserve.com and upload their videos. Prepare a short descriptive text of maximum 1,000 characters (preferably in English or Kiswahili) to be uploaded alongside the video/animation.
  • Video files MUST match the video title on the entry form. We strongly suggest listing the lead youth’s LAST name as part of the video file name so it can be more easily linked to the entry form and video title e.g. James-my-future-my-choice.mov
  • By submitting the videos and animations the entrants give the right and consent to EAC to republish the materials to their digital channels.
  • The web portal will be open for uploading the videos and animations from 1st to 15th November 2019. Submission Deadline is 15.11.2019, 23.55 hours.
